[2532] He inherited from his father the Scotia mansion and a considerableportion of his original estate, but added largely to his possessionsbefore his decease. Colonel Glen was a man of much influence in thecommunity; an extensive agriculturalist, a noted surveyor, had beenseveral times a member of the provincial legislature, and held thecommand of all the militia forces west of Albany, constituting aregiment at one time numbering 3,000 men.
